Abstract Christmas Bows!

Hiya Guys!!

I know it has been a little bit, and I am sorry for that! I have had some RL stuff come up :l Sometimes RL just insists on getting in the way! :P Anyway, Today I want to show off some really adorable Christmas stamping I did with Colors by Llarowe Mj's Jacket, and this Born Pretty Store Plate.

This plate's images are perfect in size, not to small and not to large. I especially love that the images radiate outwards, so no matter your nail bed size, you can achieve the full effect of the image on your nails. This plate retail's for $2.99 and you can also use my code AFLW10 to get 10% of your purchase. Born Pretty Store also offers free international shipping.

This like all of the Born Pretty Plates, comes wrapped in a blue protective film, that is to be removed before use. The underside of the plate, also has a paper backing to protect you from the sharp edges.  This plate stamped wonderfully as you can see, like all the the Born Pretty plates I have tried. The plate is deeply etched, so I had no trouble picking up the images, and they transferred beautifully  and cleanly onto the nail. I highly recommend this plate if you are looking for something unique and fun in your collection that can be used for all sorts of holidays and everyday looks, since abstract works with almost anything. With such a great price point of only $2.99 it is really hard to pass it up!

To get this look, I started with a base of Colors By Llarowe Mj's Jacket, which is a gorgeous jewel toned red, packed full of glitters. It is so reflective, it actually reminded me of rubies on my nails. It was fairly opaque too for a jelly packed with glitter! It only took 2 coats to achieve opacity. It also went on super smooth, and dry time was really quick. Once that was dry, I stamped all my fingers with Born Pretty Plate BP-11 in Mundo De Unas Green 08 and Essie No Place Like Chrome (Silver) on all my fingers. I then top coated everything with KBShimmer Clearly on Top and voila! Christmas nails! I had a friend actually mention that they look like Christmas bows, and I thinks she is dead on. They totally remind me of abstract Christmas Bows!

I love that this look was not only festive, but incredibly quick and easy to achieve. I love that it steps outside of the normal Christmas box by being abstract, but it still looks incredibly festive, since the colours and glitz are perfect for this time of year!

Alright guys and gals I think that covers it for today,. Again, I know that my posting has been sporadic lately, and I want to apologize for that. I was hoping to have things settled back to normal by now, but RL keeps getting in the way of my time! I am hoping to have a few more Christmas looks before the holidays, but with how things have been going I can't make any promises! I am so thankful that you guys are sticking with me, and I really hope you continue to do so. If all else fails, things should return to normal by the new year! I really hope you are all enjoying your December so far, and I really hope you like my take on some Abstract Christmas bows! If you you are interested in purchasing  the Born Pretty Store plate you can do so here and If you do, don't forget to use my code AFLW10 for 10% off all your purchases! Till next time Kittens! <3

Zoya Arizona to Bring in October!

Hey Guys!!

Happy October! I am a little pressed for time, so let's get right to it. Today I want to show off how I wore Zoya Arizona. Which is a bright true orange creme.

Zoya-Arizona-Nail-Pattern-Boldness-Heady-Topper

Zoya-Arizona-Nail-Pattern-Boldness-Heady-Topper

Zoya-Arizona-Nail-Pattern-Boldness-Heady-Topper

I am still on the fence on if I like this or not. I love the intense sparkle, and I like the stamped pattern. I am just not sure how I feel about all of it together. I am not even really sure where I was going with this, and honestly, I am not sure this worked out! lol

To get this look, I started with a base of Zoya Arizona on my thumb (not shown) pointer, and pinky fingers, and a base of Nail Pattern Boldness Heady Topper on my middle and ring fingers. Heady Topper is gorgeous, but it is on the sheer side, to get this to be opaque I did have to do 4 coats, but it dries pretty quickly for a glitter bomb, so it wasn't so bad.  Once my base was mostly dry, I used Heady Topper and did a glitter gradient, with the polish brush over my pointer and pinky.  I then stamped over my middle and ring fingers, with MoYou London Kaleidoscope Plate 06 in Mundo De Unas 53. I then top coated the whole thing with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

I think I started out thinking orange would be a good way to ring in October, but not having much else of a plan, I didn't know what else I was going to do. Sometimes those throw the kitchen sink at it and hope for the best works out for me, and sometimes....not as much! I wouldn't go as far as to say this is a "nail fail" but I wouldn't count it as a win either! Well, you live you learn I guess! :D That is the wonderful thing about nail art, nothing is permanent, so a new day a new design!  Does anyone else have this happen to them!? I know I can't be the only one! :P Let me know in the comments! Till next time Kittens! <3

KBShimmer Rust No One and Colors By Llarowe Orange Crush Comparison.

Heya Guys!!

I have a bit of a different post today. Recently I bought KBShimmer Rust No One, which is a gorgeous, red leaning orange holo, that is just perfect for fall. It arrived today, and upon unpacking it I noticed that it reminded me of something I already have. I searched my helmer and pulled out Colors By Llarowe Orange Crush, and sure enough the bottle shots made me wonder how close these two really were...so you get a comparison post today!

KBShimmer-Rust-No-One-Colors-By-llarowe-Orange-Crush-Comparison-Swatch

As you can see, the bottle shots make them look pretty close, but how close are they really??  Read on to find out!

My pointer and ring are KBShimmer Rust No One, and my middle and pinky are Colors By Llarowe Orange Crush. I did 2 coats of both polishes, and a top coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

KBShimmer-Rust-No-One-Colors-By-llarowe-Orange-Crush-Comparison-Swatch

KBShimmer-Rust-No-One-Colors-By-llarowe-Orange-Crush-Comparison-Swatch

KBShimmer-Rust-No-One-Colors-By-llarowe-Orange-Crush-Comparison-Swatch

As you can see, NOT dupes, although  they are really close. I would definitely say sister polishes for sure! KBShimmer Rust No One leans a bit more red then Orange Crush does, and in most lighting you can tell the difference between the two, however, under dim lighting I wasn't really able tell so they are certainly close. Both polishes applied amazingly well, KBShimmer Rust No One is a tad more thick then CBL Orange Crush, but both are really easy to work with.  The holo on both is almost exactly the same in strength and look, neither washes out in the shade, and both make a bright, but not overly strong rainbow in the sun.

So, now the question is, do you need both!? The polish addict in me says yes since they aren't dupes, but they are pretty close, and Orange Crush was a limited release Super Bowl polish, so it might be hard to track down. I would say if you missed out on that, Rust No One is a great substitute and a good way to squash that CBL lemming if you have been lusting after it. Both are great polishes, and honestly I am glad both are in my collection!

Alright guys and gals I think that covers it for today. I know this isn't a normal post for me, but I really hope you guys liked it. I actually had a lot of fun doing this, so perhaps if this is received well I will do some more posts like this! Till next time Kittens! <3

Colors By Llarowe: Watermarbling, Glitter, and Stamping, Oh My!

Heya Guys!

I hope everyone is having a good week, mine has been busy as I play catch up from slacking all last week. :P I recycled Wednesdays mani since I wasn't over how awesome Connie You Saucy Minx is, and this is what I came up with!

Colors-By-Llarowe-Connie-You-Saucy-Minx-Watermarbling-Nail-Stamping

Colors-By-Llarowe-Connie-You-Saucy-Minx-WAtermarbling-Nail-Stamping

Colors-By-Llarowe-Connie-You-Saucy-Minx-WAtermarbling-Nail-Stamping

I think I like this "recycled" look better then the original. The last one had it's charms, but the far from perfect stamping, really bugged me up close, where as this one turned out exactly as I saw it in my head.

To get this look, I started with a base of Rica Whiteout on my thumb (not shown) middle and pinky fingers, and left the original mani of Colors By Llarowe Connie You Saucy Minx on my pointer and ring fingers. Once Whiteout was dry, I water marbled  using Sally Hansen Green With Envy, and China Glaze Grape Pop. Since I am still learning to water marble it was a slow process, but it actually went pretty well! I feel like every time I try this, it gets a little easier and little less fail! lol Once that was dry, I top coated with China Glaze Fairy Dust, cause seriously, who doesn't love some Fairy Dust!? and then a coat of HK Girl to speed up the drying process. I then stamped using MJ Plate VII in Mundo De Unas Violet 14. I then top coated that, and voila! water marble stamped nails!

I was worried there would be to much going on with this, but I decided I liked the idea in my head enough to just go for it and I am so glad I did! I love the end result, since you can still see the pretty water marble underneath.

As a side note, I mentioned  in this post about using OPI Glitter Off! as a base coat, and just realized I never updated you guys! It did last, it lasted another 2 days after that post was up, when I finally did take it off, no nails had popped off yet so I probably would have gotten more time out of it, had I not needed to change my polish for my sanity! So my verdict? I love Glitter Off! I know for a lot of people it didn't work at all, but something in my chemistry works wonders with it, so it is definitely something I will keep using, in fact I wore it on Wednesdays mani and I am still wearing it on this one. I would suggest trying it, and seeing for yourself, cause worst case scenario, it can be used around your nails as a quick clean up if it doesn't last on you, and best case, you have an awesome long lasting base coat that peels off!

Alright guys and gals, I think that covers it for today. I hope everyone is enjoying Connie You Saucy Minx as much as I am, or at the very least isn't sick of  it! :P I promise my next post will feature a new polish! haha Till next time Kittens! <3

#RedCoatTuesday: KBShimmer Vicious Circles

Heya Guys!

It's Tuesday and that means #RedCoatTuesday nails! Sadly the Pretty Little Liars season is coming to a close tonight, so this will be my last Red Coat post for a little while. I decided on a gorgeous fall polish from last year, KBShimmer Vicious Circles. It is a gorgeous red jelly polish, with a ton of holographic circle glitters, and seriously does anyone not love circle glitters!

KBshimmer-Vicious-Circles-Messy-Mansion-Nail-Stamping-MM44

KBshimmer-Vicious-Circles-Messy-Mansion-Nail-Stamping-MM44

KBshimmer-Vicious-Circles-Messy-Mansion-Nail-Stamping-MM44

I paired this with some Messy Mansion stamping from the MM44 plate. I know I have used a lot of lace in these, but seriously, I can't seem to get enough  of lace nails! I am addicted. I admit it, I have a huge addiction to lace stamping plates and lace nails! lol!

To get this look, I started with a KBShimmer Vicious Circles on my thumb (not shown) pointer and pinky fingers, and a plain red base of Rimmel London Stiletto Red on my middle and ring fingers. Once that was dry, I got out the Messy Mansion stamping plate, and stamped in Cult Nails Nevermore. I added a red gleequin to the centre of the flower, which catches the light nicely in person, but didn't really show up much in photos. I then top coated everything in KBShimmer Clearly on Top and I was done!

As a side note, I did all this over a base of OPI Glitter Off, and I know the reviews have been super mixed and mostly unfavorable towards that base coat, but it seems to work amazing with my body  chemistry. I put this on yesterday morning, and have been particularly hard on my hands since then (shower, dishes, a puppy bath, and even some Mr. Clean)  and I haven't even had so much as had tip wear so far. I will keep you posted on it since I need this to last at least till tomorrow, but I just thought I would add this in for anyone who has been on the fence about trying this, but  is also hesitant since reviews were less then stellar.

Alright guys and gals, I think that covers it for today! I still have a bathroom to clean today, so I guess I should stop procrastinating and get on it! Ahh, the glamorous life I lead! Ha! Till next time Kittens! <3

piCture pOlish Blogfest 2014!

Hey Guys!

Today's post is a super exciting one. It is piCture pOlish's anual blogfest, and I am incredibly honored to be a part of it. This year is even more exciting as Instagram is involved too! The other thing that makes this really neat, is that Nail Vinyls is also involved this year!

I was given 3 shades, and a pack of Chevron Nail Vinyls, which piCture pOlish is now carrying in an exclusive 4 pack containing Chevrons, Mini Chevrons, Straight and Right angles. One of the shades, Bette, which is a newly released opulence shade, was to swatch for all you lovelies, and the other 2 shades and the Nail Vinyls  were given to create some awesome nail art! This post is picture heavy, and a bit of a long one, so get comfy grab a drink and let's get to it!

Let's start with Bette

Bette is a gorgeous, gorgeous blue shade, that is just packed full of shimmery, rainbow win. It is loaded with gorgeous silver glitters, that made me think of shimmering water. If that wasn't enough awesome, it also has a gorgeous holo effect, that is scattered, but very tightly packed so it looks almost linear. I can tell why this is part of the opulence series, cause wow! It is just so stunning, and  so incredibly unique. You really need to see this in person, cause there aren't even words! I don't know how the gals at PP do it, but this one is a must have for any glitter or holo addict!

It went on amazingly well, especially since it is packed full of glitter. It is a tad on the thick side, but nothing at all that makes it hard to work with.  It is fairly opaque too, the first coat goes on a bit sheer, but the second made it mostly opaque. I am pretty sure if I had shorter nails, or I didn't do my coats so thin, that this would have only needed 2 coats, as it was it only took 3 thin coats. I honestly, can't say enough good things about this polish.

Now that you all have seen the amazing Bette, let's move onto the nail art portion!

I was given this to work with, and I was to use only this! It was a challenge, but in the end I came up with something I really love, (and I hope you guys do too! :P) It was an awesome experience and I had a lot of fun, trying out different ideas, and designs!

I decided on a Domino Chevron look, that falls from a vertical position to a horizontal one! I am so pleased with how this turned out, and I think these two colours go perfectly together. Both polishes applied wonderfully, and smoothly. Tail Feather was a bit more sheer requiring 3 coats for opacity, and was a tad thick, but that is to be expected with a polish so loaded with shimmers and glitters.

I made a mini tutorial for you guys, in case anyone wants to recreate this!

Start with your base coat,  I used Tail Feather. Make sure it is completely dry, otherwise the Nail Vinyls will pull up the base coat of polish when you remove them.

Using the Nail Vinyls, tape off the nail, in a domino descending pattern. Starting with them straight up and down, and turning slightly to the right across all your fingers till you get to your pinky, which should end up horizontal.  Once they are securely in place, you can start to polish, for this  step I used Erie. Doing one nail at a time, polish over the chevron vinyls, and then pull up the Nail Vinyls while the polish is still wet using tweezers. Once you have done all your fingers, top coat and voila! Chevron domino nails!

I think that is everything! I had an amazing time doing this, and can't thank the piCture pOlish ladies enough for this awesome opportunity!  I really hope you all enjoyed my swatches and nail art, as much as I enjoyed putting this all together for you guys!  Also, don't forget to check out all the other amazing blog/insta fest posts today, there is some insane talent out there in the blog/instagram community and I for one, can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with!

Colors By Llarowe: My Own Private Paradise is Totally Chillax.

Heya guys!

Happy Friday! Today I want to show off how I wore, Colors By Llarowe My Own Private Paradise. This is a groegous purple holo polish, that almost leans on the side of neon. I paired it with piCture pOlish Chillax, which is a green/blue mint shade.

Colors-By-Llarowe-My-Own-Private-Paradise-MoYou-London-Hipster-Nail-Stamping

Colors-By-Llarowe-My-Own-Private-Paradise-MoYou-London-Hipster-Nail-Stamping

As you can see, the holo in My Own Private Paradise is quite strong. It even shows up in my lightbox, which we all know is death to holo rainbows. I love how unique this polish is, not only is it holo and awesome, it is a blue toned purple, with a bit of a neon quality to it, that isn't dulled at all by the holo. It looks amazing both indoors and out in the sun! Chillax is a creamy green/blue mint colour, that is incredibly pretty, and almost applies by itself, I honestly think I have yet to find a piCture pOlish shade I don't love.

To get this look I started with a base of My Own Private Paradise on my thumb (not shown) pointer, and ring fingers, and a base of Chillax on middle and pinky fingers. Both polishes are 2 easy coats. Once that was dry, I stamped using MoYou London Hipster Plate 07, and stamped in both My Own Private Paradise and Chillax, on the fingers of the opposite colours. I then top coated with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

When I started these nails, I wasn't sure where they were going to end up. I pretty much started polishing, without a plan in place and this was the end result. I love when that works out! :P If you don't own either of these polishes, I would highly recommend adding them to your collection, not only are they gorgeous all on their own, but they both apply amazing, and can be used for stamping.

Alright guys and gals, I think that pretty much covers it for today. I am hoping to get some poolside time in this afternoon, but that will depend on how fast studying goes :l /sigh always something in the way of lounging by the pool! :P Anyway, till next time Kittens! <3

Zoya: Bubbly Collection is a Rainbow of Awesome!

Heya Guys!!

Recently I found the Zoya Bubbly Collection on sale, and just couldn't resist picking it up. I don't normally pick up entire collections, I am more of a pick and choose what appeals to me, but every polish in this collection just looked so pretty, that I could justify owning the entire thing. I wasn't sure which colour to wear first, so after some major indecision,  I settled on all of them!

Zoya-Bubbly-Collection-Lily-Anna-Nail-Stamping

Zoya-Bubbly-Collection-Lily-Anna-Nail-Stamping

Zoya-Bubbly-Collection-Lily-Anna-Nail-Stamping

To get this look, I started with a base of all the colours in the collection, Jesy (orange) , Harper (pink), Alma (yellow) , Staasi (green), Muse (blue), and Binx (purple/pink). Starting at my thumb (not shown) I painted half the nail in a colour, overlapping just a bit, then painting the second colour on the other half of the nail, and again overlapping a bit. I went across on all my nails like this, to form a gradient rainbow across all my fingers.  I did 2 coats across all my nails. Once that was dry, I stamped my middle and ring fingers with Lily Anna Plate 13 in Cult Nails Nevermore, and used ILNP Pi-Ya-No (the black and white glitter) on my remaining nails.  I then top coated with HK Girl and I was done!

I really adore how this came out, not only was it super easy to do, thanks to the jelly formula of the bubbly collection which allowed me to just use the polish brush for the gradient, but the stamping also allowed me to have a complicated tape mani look, without all the work! I can already see tons of looks with this collection, and honestly can't wait to try them all out. I think Zoya really hit it out of the park with this collection, and if you don't own any or all of them, you certainly should! The awesome jelly formula gives endless possibilities to nail art!

Alright guys and gals I think that covers it for one day! Has anyone else picked this collection up yet? Which one is your favourite!? I thought Muse would be mine, hands down, but Binx really snuck up on me! Till next time Kittens! <3

Red Coat Tuesday: Cult Nails Ay Poppy!

Hey Guys!

Today's #RedCoatTuesday look, is a fun tropical look, using Cult Nails Ay Poppy! Ay Poppy has been sitting in my untrieds for a while now, and so this was the perfect excuse to use it! It is already super late in the day, so let's get right to it tonight!

Ay Poppy! is a orange leaning red creme polish, that is super creamy, and goes on beautifully in 2 easy coats. I really love that while it is still red, it is anything but a traditional red. The orange side of it, gives it a little extra something, and makes it a unique polish.

I decided to try my hand for the first time at the leadlight technique, if you haven't heard what that is yet, then go take a look at this and although I think there is plenty of room for improvement, I still really love how this came out, and bonus, it is really easy to do. Much faster then making stamping decals on a sandwich bag! I started with a base on my middle and ring fingers, with Whiteout by Rica. It is a one coat easy application white, that is also stamps amazingly well. Once that was dry, I stamped on the flower image with Pueen Encore SE04B in Cult Nails Nevermore, at this point I top coated, since I have seen the black smearing when colouring it in some cases. Once it was dry to the touch, I got out a small nail art bush and a small dotting tool, and filled in the flowers with L’Oréal Paris Créme de Mint (greenL’Oréal Paris Jolly Lolly (red)L’Oréal Paris Bananarama Love (yellow)  and L’Oréal Paris Mango Mama (orange)  Again, even though these didn't turn out perfect I am still really proud of how well my first try went, and I will certainly be doing this again in the future.

Alright guys and gals, I think that covers it for one day. Has anyone else done the leadlight technique? How did it go!? Let me know in the comments! Till next time Kittens! <3

Load Lacquer: Watermelon for Red Coat Tuesday!

Hiya Guys!

It is once again #RedCoatTuesday ! and you all know what that means! Red nails! I used Load Lacquer Watermelon for my red look, and the polish name is what inspired today's nails!

Loaded-Lacquer-Watermelon-Nail-Art

Loaded-Lacquer-Watermelon-Nail-Art

Loaded-Lacquer-Watermelon-Nail-Art

Loaded-Lacquer-Watermelon-Nail-Art

First things first, I know they aren't very PLL as far as sultry goes, but it is summer, and a lot of my looks thus far have leaned toward fall/winter. I really wanted to get some red nails in that were summer appropriate, and when I picked up Loaded Lacquer Watermelon, it was a done deal!

To get this look, I started with a base of Loaded Lacquer Watermelon on my thumb (not shown) pointer, and pinky fingers, and a base of OPI Jade is the New Black on my middle and ring fingers. Once the green fingers were dry to the touch, I got out a make-up sponge and sponged OPI Jade is the New Black, Zoya Josie and Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet onto those nails. I free-handed the tip of my thumb, middle and pinky fingers using Jade is the New Black, and used a white stripping polish to put in the white stripe along the green tip. I used a dotting tool with Cult Nails Nevermore to put in the seeds. I then placed the watermelon fimo pieces using an orange wood stick and some topcoat.

I am really pleased with how these came out. If you have been here a while you know I struggle a bit with freehand, so to be able to see how much my skills have improved in the last year, is just astounding to me, and I can't wait to see the progress another year from now.

Alright guys and gals, I think that covers most of it for today. I hope that you all are having an awesome sauce Tuesday, don't forget to indulge on Pretty Little Liars tonight, and also to check out all the other awesome Red Coat Tuesday looks! Till next time Kittens! <3

I really adore how this came out, and the holo in this polish is so strong, that it shows it rainbow awesome off even indoors, under non friendly holo lights! This was one of those looks, that at the beginning I had no idea where it would go, I simply started with the intent to swatch, and then of course, couldn't leave well enough alone, and this was the end result.

To get this look, I started with my base of Cirque Colors Chrysopoeia. Once that was dry, I stamped with MoYou London Pro Plate 06 in Mundo De Unas Purple #21 on my middle and ring fingers. I then added some studs to my thumb, pointer and pinky fingers, that were purchased from Born Pretty Store. I love how easy this was to create, and how great the pay off is in terms of adorable!

Alright guys and gals, I think that covers it for today, again if you haven't entered into the most awesome of giveaways yet, you should do that now , like seriously, right now! You don't want to miss out on your chance to win 200 polishes! I really hope everyone had a great weekend. Today is actually my moms birthday and so the family and I are going to one of those cheesy dinner theatres, the ones with dinner and a musical production. I think it will be a lot of fun, even if a bit dorky, so I am looking forward to it. Anyway, till next time Kittens! <3
