Colors By Llarowe: Watermarbling, Glitter, and Stamping, Oh My!

Heya Guys!

I hope everyone is having a good week, mine has been busy as I play catch up from slacking all last week. :P I recycled Wednesdays mani since I wasn't over how awesome Connie You Saucy Minx is, and this is what I came up with!

I think I like this "recycled" look better then the original. The last one had it's charms, but the far from perfect stamping, really bugged me up close, where as this one turned out exactly as I saw it in my head.

To get this look, I started with a base of Rica Whiteout on my thumb (not shown) middle and pinky fingers, and left the original mani of Colors By Llarowe Connie You Saucy Minx on my pointer and ring fingers. Once Whiteout was dry, I water marbled  using Sally Hansen Green With Envy, and China Glaze Grape Pop. Since I am still learning to water marble it was a slow process, but it actually went pretty well! I feel like every time I try this, it gets a little easier and little less fail! lol Once that was dry, I top coated with China Glaze Fairy Dust, cause seriously, who doesn't love some Fairy Dust!? and then a coat of HK Girl to speed up the drying process. I then stamped using MJ Plate VII in Mundo De Unas Violet 14. I then top coated that, and voila! water marble stamped nails!

I was worried there would be to much going on with this, but I decided I liked the idea in my head enough to just go for it and I am so glad I did! I love the end result, since you can still see the pretty water marble underneath.

As a side note, I mentioned  in this post about using OPI Glitter Off! as a base coat, and just realized I never updated you guys! It did last, it lasted another 2 days after that post was up, when I finally did take it off, no nails had popped off yet so I probably would have gotten more time out of it, had I not needed to change my polish for my sanity! So my verdict? I love Glitter Off! I know for a lot of people it didn't work at all, but something in my chemistry works wonders with it, so it is definitely something I will keep using, in fact I wore it on Wednesdays mani and I am still wearing it on this one. I would suggest trying it, and seeing for yourself, cause worst case scenario, it can be used around your nails as a quick clean up if it doesn't last on you, and best case, you have an awesome long lasting base coat that peels off!

Alright guys and gals, I think that covers it for today. I hope everyone is enjoying Connie You Saucy Minx as much as I am, or at the very least isn't sick of  it! :P I promise my next post will feature a new polish! haha Till next time Kittens! <3

Essie Play Date is Disarmed and Dangerous!

Morning Guys!!

I am actually writing this in the middle of the night, 2:53 am to be exact!, however this won't go up till tomorrow morning, so it is morning by the time you are all seeing this. I have been a bit busy the past week,  which is why it has been a quiet around here, but I did manage to snap a few shots of how I recently wore Essie Play Date.

I adore this purple, it is such a fun, squishy looking purple. As you can see, I paired this with a third attempt at a  water marble. I am really proud of how my water marble skills are coming along. Maybe soon, I will be brave enough to do a whole mani outta them, and not just an accent nail! The polishes  used for the water marble are Essie Tart Deco (which I will state yet again I love, love, love) Zoya Micky and Essie Play Date. I topped it off with a bit of China Glaze Fairy Dust, to add some sparkle, cause honestly, who doesn't love sparkle?

To add a bit more interest to this look, I also added a glitter gradient on my pinky. The glitter I used was Disarmed and Dangerous by Loaded Lacquer. I really love this glitter, not only is it super unique to my collection and gorgeous, it is also awesome to work with.  I had no trouble getting a good amount of glitter on the brush, which made for a super easy glitter gradient.  I will add here, that for some reason, my pinky and my camera did not get along, and it actually looks like a different base colour, it is not. I used a base of Essie Play Date there as well, but for some reason my camera refused to photo it properly. I guess this glitter was to much awesome sauce goodness for it to handle! :P

Alright guys and gals, it is after 3:00 am now, so I really should be getting to bed. I have an early day tomorrow, but my favourite person in the whole wide world is flying in tomorrow morning, so it will totally be worth no sleep!  This is also where I get to add how awesome all of you guys are, and how you will totally forgive me if I am not around much the next week!! I know, this week, now the next!! However, for your awesome patience with my hectic schedule, I have an offering of cookies!! Things will be back to normal after this week I promise!  Till next time Kittens! <3

Glam Polish Margaritaville: Water Marbling Take Two!

Heya Guys!

It has been really sunny and almost warm outside the past few day, and it has sent me flying into full spring fever mode! I have been going outside in nothing but a light jacket, even if it isn't quite warm enough yet, wearing shoes, despite the melting snow everywhere, and of course, putting fun bright eye popping colours on my nails! Today's mani I want to share with you, is no exception.

Let me just start by saying, I love everything about this mani, from the bright eye popping colours, to the fun glitters,  even the far from perfect water marble I did! Although, as this is my second attempt, I can already see a major improvement from the last one

I used Glam Polish Margaritaville for my pointer, ring and thumb (not shown). As you can see, it is almost  a neon, coral like orange shade, with gorgeous purple, pink and yellow matte glitters in it. It applies amazing, and barely needs any manipulation to get onto the nail. I do recommend turning the bottle upside down before application however, since the large pink hex glitters do settle to the bottom.  I applied two coats of this wonderfully gorgeous polish, (which is sadly a newly discontinued shade, so if you see it, make sure to grab it up!) over Where Did Suzi's Mango? by OPI. Which is a similar orange/coral creme from their new OPI Brazil collection.

To make the colours really pop on the gradient and water marble, I used a white base of My Boyfriend Scales Walls by OPI. Then, using the same 4 colours for both accent nails, I applied a gradient to my pinky, and a water marble to my middle finger. The polishes used for the accent nails were I Just Can't Copa-Cabana by OPI (yellow) Where Did Suzi's Mango? by OPI (orange) Micky by Zoya (pink) and Grape Pop by China Glaze (purple) I then added a bit of Fairy Dust by China Glaze to make it sparkle. It is all topped off with my trusty HK Girl top coat.

I really think that this entire look just screams sunshine, and warmer weather. With my spring frenzy currently in full swing, I feel like I could wear this forever! Are any of you craving the warmer weather too? Have you done any spring/summer nails to reflect your need for spring to hurry up and get here? Let me know in the comments! Till next time Kittens! <3

Glam Polish: Cloud Atlas and a Water Marble Accent!

Hi Guys!

Recently I decided to take on the incredibly challenging, but oh so pretty,  water marbling! My end results were far, far, far from perfect, but I think with some practice and work at it I could get the hang of it, and besides, even my "meh" results I still loved!

I played it safe, and only did one nail on each hand, since going into this I figured it would be challenging, (and I wasn't wrong, haha )  I paired it with the absolutely gorgeous Cloud Atlas by Glam Polish.  and did a gradient on my pinky, using the same colours I water marbled with, anyway, enough rambling, let's show off my first water marble!

Clearly, my water marbling skills need some work, but I think for a first try at this technique, it isn't THAT bad! :P  I like the effect enough, and it wasn't a total nightmare to achieve, which is good, cause I have read and heard from some, that is can be when it comes to water marbling.  Overall because of the gorgeous colours, and that Glam Polish shade, I still love these nails, and I will certainly be trying this technique again.

Now, What colours did I use to get my meh water marble, and my pretty gradient!? Well, that pretty blue colour is Lime Crime Once in a Blue Mouse, and the purple is Essie Play Date (which btw I use more then any other purple and I love, love, love) the pink is OPI Pinking of You, from the 2013 Breast Cancer awareness release, and the white is OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, which is the best white ever, and sadly very very hard to find, since OPI no longer makes it, and it was limited release. If you do manage to find a bottle, grab it up, you won't be sorry! I, myself have 2 backup bottles, one, I managed to snag from Winners, and one from my local Beauty Supply store.

Alright Guys and Gals, I think that is mostly it for today, one thing I just NEED to share before I go though, I recently applied to nail school, with the hopes of being able to do this as a career, and this morning I found out I will in fact be attending school! I am pretty excited about this, and can't wait to share all the ups and downs with you guys!

Till next time Kittens! <3
