OPI Chillin' Like A Villain with some Water Decals

Hi Guys!!

Happy Saturday! I have been hard at work all week, trying to get my nail room in order, it is coming along amazingly well, and I can't wait to finish it up this week, and finally be able to start using it!

Even though, I have been busy, to the point of insanity :( I did manage to get a little nail art done! I somewhat, cheated though, and used water decals, from Born Pretty Store . I have to say, this was my first time using these, and I loved them. They are super easy to use, and they are incredibly cute on! Between that, and their incredibly affordable price point, I can say with certainty, that I will be using these again.

I really love how theses came out, especially since, it was so easy, and fast to achieve. The base on my pointer, middle, and ring finger is OPI Chillin' Like A Villain, from the new soft shades collection this year. A note about this polish,  I do love it, and I think that this shade is gorgeous, especially on my skin tone, but I was not super happy that it took 4 coats to reach opacity. It isn't a deal breaker for me, but I know it would be for some people, so I thought I would note that here. My pinky  is Zoya Cosmo, and seriously, be still my heart! I am in love! I only got  this one,  from this trio, cause I wasn't sure I would love the finish, after hearing mixed reviews, but I am in love, deeply, madly, truly! :P and I know I need the other two in my life now!

Zoya PixieDust: Nyx Swatches and Review

I was hoping to have this out a few days back, but I had some epic computer fail. Hardware fail of my motherboard, to be exact. Needless to say it required the replacement of my laptop, so I got a bit delayed in getting this up. Better late the never though right!?? Anyway, let's get right into the good stuff, since it still frustrates me to no end, that a 1 year old laptop died on me. :l

Back when I posted about London here I mentioned that I also bought Nyx. Which is a periwinkle blue from the PixieDust collection. As you can guess, today’s post features the swatches and review of that texture polish.

Nyx is a gorgeous almost magical soft blue, with what feels like an actual twinkle thanks to the PixieDust effect. I found this to be a much softer polish colour then London. Where as London almost said fairy tale goes punk. This just speaks true innocent fairy tale magic. (At least to me!) As with London I wore it without base or topcoat. Anyway, I will save the particulars like last time till the end, onto some pictures!!

Okay, now you have seen the images, and heard my description of it.  Time to talk about the polish. First off, it went on amazing, just like London. It is a bit on the thicker side, but not so much that it makes it difficult to apply or work with. All the texture polishes I have tried have been on the thicker side, I am almost certain that it is just a side effect of texture. The wear time was also really well, unlike with London which only got 1 day before I took it off. I wore this for almost 5 days before the first slight chip, before that the only thing I experienced was some minor tip wear. Overall I liked this polish a lot, and will certainly be wearing it again. If I had to pick between this and London, even though they are both beautiful.  I would likely have to pick Nyx. I guess I have a soft spot for it's fairy tale, dream like quality!  

I think that covers most of it. A quick little question though, I have been less than impressed with the lighting of my images, and I heard that natural light, light bulbs are best? Is this true? I am thinking about picking one up and seeing if it helps any.  I have also considered building a real light box, but haven't had much spare time. It is on my to-do list though!! Any advice, anyone wants to give to a newborn blogger like myself would be greatly appreciated get you tons of love! Well, till next time kittens...

Zoya PixieDust: London Swatches and Review

Hey all!

In my area Zoya polishes are pretty hard to come by. Which is awful for me, since with Zoya it was love at first sight, or should I say, at first brush stroke!? Too cheesy?? Yeah, too cornball...  Anyway, moving past that terrible one liner.  Since Zoya are hard to come by, I have to get my needs filled through online retailers, which means I normally lust after stuff for a while before it ends up in my hands.

 Recently I made an online purchase for some Zoya polishes. PixieDust ones to be exact. Now, I know I am a bit late to the party with this, but along with them not being easy to come by, I also, in the beginning, wasn't sure how I felt about the whole "texture" craze. Finally, after timidly trying a couple of texture polishes and seeing gorgeous swatch after gorgeous swatch. I was converted! I made an online order, and waited like a little kid at Christmas for the mail man to bring me my pretties. 

As you can guess, since I am you telling this story, that they recently arrived in the mail. I just couldn't wait to throw on some Gilmore Girls, since at the moment I am currently re-watching! No judging!! I love it!! and slap one on my little fingers and see the PixieDust effect! The one featured in today's post is London. Which is a charcoal black/grey. It reminds me of fairy dust, but with an edge. Like, Tinkerbell goes punk. I will leave the rest of the particulars till the end.  What I thought, formula, all that awesome goodness.

Anyway, onto the pictures!  First up are the indoor shots.

Now some outdoor shots. Unfortunately the sun wasn't playing nice, so the images aren't as sun filled as I was hoping for, but I did the best with what I had available.

  I know a bit picture heavy, but I really had fun getting out the camera and snapping way too many pictures! I still need to work on my pictures skills a bit, but I will get the hang of it eventually! I should at least get points for no iPhone pictures this time.

Okay the polish related stuff.  I really love this polish, not only did it apply extremely well, it was opaque in just 2 coats, which is always a plus. I wore this without a base coat, and obviously no top coat. I can't really comment too much on wear time, since I only wore it for a day before taking it off, but in that day,  it did wear really well. Especially since I over wash my hands, and I tend to bash them into things WAY to often! I may be just a teeny bit accident prone!

Anyway, I think that is enough for one post, and I hope the 2 people I am making read this enjoyed my ramblings. I do enjoy writing them, and maybe, just maybe, some more people will show up soon!
